Hello,
I have been reading through some of these posts, and specifically some older posts where people ask about help in a reduction in their current months bill.
My issue is this. I did indeed go over my minutes last month, over 400. I am not arguing I am at fault with that. What I am having an issue with, as so many are these days, is worrying about having to pay that entire amount in one month. I fell ill last month and only received one weeks worth of pay and will only be receiving a fraction of my pay this month. I have been with T-mobile for 10 years now, well I begin with, my mind just went blank, but T-mobile bought them out years ago. I have remained with them this entire time, I am a long and loyal customer and I have always paid my bill on time. I also can not recall a time that I went over my usage, at least nothing to this degree.
In any case, so many people on this forum state that the Customer Service rep has the discretion to discount a portion of the bill, at least $50. I have called them 3 times, just asking for assistance, this one time, I have never asked that before. I know so many will say, "you used those minutes, now pay for them!" Any other time I would, but I just can not come up with all of that money right now. I even spoke to their Financial Services dept. to see about getting that spread out over, at least, a 6 month period, but I was informed the longest I can possibly have is a 3 week period from the date it is due (Jan 21).
In any case, my question is: Specifically to any T-mobile reps that are reading this, is there really nothing that can be done? At the very least, in regard to having the $250 spread out over a 6 month period? I have always been happy with T-mobile, hence the longevity of my business with them, I am just saddened that they are informing me that I can not even have a 6 month period to pay this amount. Six months could make all the difference in the world to me right now.
Any input from anyone would be appreciated. Thank you!

Get a short term loan? or up your minute plan and have them predate it.

I hope you're feeling better. I wanted to offer some advice on your large bill issue. Yes it is true that there is nothing that can be done. Once a billing cycle ends, T-Mobile is not able to go back and make adjustments on the minutes usage. If someone did tell you that the representatives can credit up to $50 they were mistaken. Representatives at T-Mobile are empowered to issue adjustments for T-Mobile errors or inconveniences. They do offer a multitude of options to check your usage and a rate plan change is always just a phone call away. If they catch it before your cycle date, anything can be backdated for regular post paid accounts. But. there is hope. They do offer an excellent payment arrangement option which can be set up with checks to come out at regular intervals. I hope that helps. Have a good day!

First off sorry to hear you took ill, but there is no company out there that is going to give you six months to pay a bill off. Does your landlord allow you six months, what about the electric company? Or your cable provider? Or yoru lanline phone company? Reps do not have the discretion to credit 50 dollars just because they want too. Glad to see that you have been with Tmobile that long. Sad to say being able to spread that out for six months is not even a reasonable request. It is true there is nothing that can be done to give you 6 months to pay it of. Glad you are feeling better. The economy is rough right now we are all feeling it, but a cell phone has became a necessary part of our life but we all have to decide what is most important. Good luck
