How can I get custom ringtones on to my LG Chocolate (8550)?
I've tried texting them to myself, but the quality of some came out great, and other's really crappy and I can't figure out why this is. I got them into both the my music and my sounds sections of my phone and tried sending them in a message that way too, but same thing.
Is there anyway to put them in a folder on the memory card, or access the phone's internal memory? I used to use BitPim, but my phone was acting up so I got a new one from Verizon and now it says it can't access the phone b/c it's blocked or something.
Any ideas?

Have you tried emailing the sound clip to your mobile number @vzwpix.com and saving the sound from there to your ringtones? If that works then perhaps you can find a better quality clip to email to yourself.

I have suddenly been able to transfer files to my phone using bit pim (which was not working due to verizon having the phone "locked")
Also, I did try sending myself them in a message. Some files came out good quality, some poor, even though they all were clipped down to 30 second-ish clips from mp3 files, so they were all good quality prior to sending them to myself. Can't figure out why some came out better than others.

Thanks for the site but that costs $8.99 a month, I can get ringtones from Verizon for less than that b/c I don't download that many.
However, my phone now seems to all of a sudden let me transfer ringtones and files with Bit Pim again. Don't know how/why, but it works! So I'm no longer looking for alternative methods of getting ringtones.
