What plan do you have? T-Mobile normally offer plans with free roaming, so it shouldn't matter if you're roaming or not it should just be your normal minutes. However, even though they do not charge for roaming on majority of their plans, your myfaves and mobile to mobile would not be free, it'll just pull from your regular daytime minutes. I can't believe someone told you that you're roaming. There is only one roaming plan and that's the 3000 regional plan, and I don't think T-Mobile offers this plan anymore.

Also prepaid has free roaming too. T-Mobile doesn't charge for roaming.
