Ok.so I thought I had my MicroSD card all figured out since I'd used it with my old Motorola E815. I've had my U740 (Alias.whatever) for awhile and figured I'd upload some MP3s to my flash card. I formatted the card in the phone, put it in the adapter and slid it into my PC (and my laptop.tried both). It seems to read everything just fine, but when I try to copy files over I get an error that tells me it's write protected. What the? Does anyone know a way around this or why it's doing it in the first place?

isn't the microsd adapter locked? did you check the little button on the adapter's side? i had the same problem with my behold and my 16 gb microsd. it just didn't work when i plugged it with the adapter. So i inserted it on the phone and didn't work either! i used the old method of blowing into the little hole , put back the sd, plugged it to the lap and. it worked fine. or maybe you should try to format it from the computer instead of the phone.

Yes, it's locked in there. I suppose I can try blowing in the adapter hole. Seems a little old school Nintendo, but worth a shot.
I have tried formatting from my computer, but then the card reads absolutely nothing in the phone. Seems ridiculous, but I know from experience Verizon (my carrier) has a long history of screwing people like that. I had to seem hack my old Motorola just to be able to transfer mp3s from my PC and to use Bluetooth. I guess Verizon wants you to buy their crap instead using Get It Now.
EDIT: D'oh. Ok.I'm an idiot. I had the card adapter in the "locked" position. Don't know why this was never a problem with the old phone. I always assumed it was there to physically lock the mini card in place. Hahaha. So thanks for the reply.but I'm just an idiot is all.
