I just recently updated my BB curve 8330 from software version 4.3 to 4.5. All works well, except, the new software took away my roaming only feature. Prior to the software upgrade, I had to set my phone to roam only in order to get service where I work. After the upgrade, the feature is gone. I am constantly switching between towers and can't receive or make calls. What do I do?

By the way, after you upgrade, nothing is wiped out. You need the desktop software and all is backed up and then reloaded after the upgrade is complete. That was really nice!

Try re-sending the service books. This sends all of your carrier-specific settings to your phone. This may solve your problem.

1.) Go to http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/internet/email.jsp#tab_tab_deskt op_setup.

2.) Login using the credentials you set up with your provider.

3.) In the left hand column, click 'Service Books'

4.) Click 'Send Service Books'

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the reply. I had to end my contract 30 trial period with sprint due to not being able to get service where I was. I will let the other person that I know who has the same problem about the link. I would love to go back to sprint due to the low costs. It seems that everyone else is so high.

I need to know how to get my roaming only option back. The link took me to setting up an email account through the blackberry. The roam option is what I need. Any ideas?

The service books option wasn't on the left hand side of the screen either. Help!

You should be able to call your provider and they will send the service books to you.
