Sorry Gerio! I didn't mean to offend! I just kind of assumed. I'm sorry again.
And I agree with you on the whole grammar thing. I used to be a bit of a grammar nazi (for lack of anything better to call it at the moment). I've kinda slid since those days, but I still at least try to write in complete sentances and try to watch the comma splices.
geri lighten up a bit lol. it is the internet, not english class. after all, leet sp34k and txt abbreviations started here, on the net, and not phones.

I don't see anything wrong with standing up for proper (and interpret-able) language and grammar.
And I've been all over the Internet as long as it's been around. and I had NEVER seen such abuse of proper grammar before I was exposed to texting on phones. Except for AOL (THERE'S a shocker). Okay, considering AOL, you may have a point. BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT RIGHT!
And Randa, there was no offense taken, I assure you. I have fun with that on a semi-regular basis
ah I take it you were never a part of the early days of chat rooms before everyone knew how to type. now you'll find most leet speech in online games. and actually recent research shows most, (not all, sadly) new generation know when to use txt or text, and the increase in texting over recent years has actually improved vocabulary and spelling skills despite using abbreviations. its just a generation gap I suppose =p

Of course, I was. I've been online since before AOL, Prodigy, and Compuserve migrated to the internet. And I was chiding people then for bad typing and language. It was even worse then because there was no "standard", if I may so rudely abuse the word, of text shorthand, and people could hardly understand each other. I availed myself of the typing classes available in high school, and it appeared that lots of people did, too, at the time, but you wouldn't know it these days.

Now my head really hurts. This is where I cry "No Mas" or "Uncle". There's a gap, alright, just not of the generational variety.
And I've contributed enough to this horrible thread drift (yes, yes, I started it!). I'm out.

Appalling phone, appalling service. I bought a Quickfire in late November 2008. Within a couple of weeks, the phone wouldn't charge. Went back to the store and they gave me a new charger (but it took a week). Phone still wouldn't charge. I was then told to call the AT&T warranty number. They sent a new phone in January. Within a few weeks, the touch screen on the replacement malfunctioned. We called AT&T again and this time they sent us a refurbished phone. Within 3 days that malfunctioned (try to change the wallpaper, the phone shuts down). I've spent literally hours on hold with AT&T Customer Service and hours at their at their authorized phone store (Apex Telecom) trying to get a refund on this phone and they refuse to refund my money, even though the reps have admitted that there have been lots of complaints with this phone.
The original writer asked for a solution. Here's the one I used: I accepted one of the phones they were offering, sold it to someone at work for what I could get out of it, and put that towards my contract termination fee (which they refused to let me out of even though they gave me 3 rubbish phones in 3 months). Then I abandoned AT&T and became a Verizon customer.and I took the 3 other phones in my family to Verizon too.

The phone that is being offered to has comparable features and The price u are listing above is promotional prices not the retail price of the phone. Its not ATT fault the Quickfire was a bad phone. ATT didn manufacture the phone.
AT&T bought out UTStarcom, the people that do manufacture the phone. Thus, AT&T did, infact, manufacture the phone and take any responsibility for the phone malfunctioning. Read up on your info so you dont sound like a total prat

I am totally in shock with how Cingular handled my problems with my Quickfire. I have never in the past had a problem with Cingular and they have always been super helpful UNTIL NOW! I was out of town when my Quickfire decided to totally lock up and become unusable. So when I got home the next day I called customer service and talked to the nicest lady who informed me that there was a recall on the Quickfires and that some are actually overheating to the point where they are catching on fire. She told me to call the warranty department and that they would get me set up with a different phone. I called them and the lady helped me out, however, when I asked her about what phone I was going to be sent she told me I would be getting another Quickfire. I asked her about the recall and told her the lady at customer service had informed me of it and she quickly told me there was no recall and the only would give me the same phone. So I was rather confused on this issue and called customer service back. This time a gentle man answered the phone and thought he would make a joke by saying "so it seems like your having a good day." I had to explain my confusion to him many times and repeat my story over and over. Finally he told me whatever warranty sends me is what I get. Great I can't wait to get another junk phone, maybe this time I will get to see it catch fire instead of locking up. AT&T you amaze me with your safety and care of customers.
