have had my quickfire for a little over 60 days now. Guess what? It crapped out! Over heats and screen has locked up! This is obviously is a horrible phone that AT&T has purchased from UTStarcomm. WHAT A MESS. Now let me give you a little more information. . . .We have GOT TO JOIN TOGETHER to find a BETTER SOLUTION.

What did you pay for your Quickfire? For argument sake lets say . . .$99.00

When you call Warranty Care which is handling the "recall" or any warranty issues for the Quickfire they are offering the following phones . . .

LG VU - $49
Samsung Propel - $49
Pantech Matrix - $79

Now Don't get me wrong YOU DO NOT have to pay that price, These are the posted prices for these phones in the AT&T store. DO YOU see anything wrong so far? Why is it that WE ARE BEING OFFERED a lesser phone? This doesn't make sense to me.

I did not like any of the phones being offered so I asked if I could purchase the Samsung Eternity. Now this one is $149. I offered to pay the additional $50 (even though AT&T is not offering to credit me $50 for a lesser phone) However this is NOT an option. OK now I have been on the phone with AT&T Customer Care for about 20 min. The Warranty Care for about 30 mins and have finally driven to the AT&T Store. I'm just tired at this point. I said forget it! Just give me the Eternity and I will pay the $149 and forget the Quickfire - SORRY MA'AM you are not eligible for an upgrade until 2009! WHAT?

THIS IS COMPLETELY CrAzY! Where is the CUSTOMER SERVICE? WHY are WE being punished for AT&T getting a REALLY BAD phone from HTC?

ALL QUICKFIRE USERS NEED TO JOIN TOGETHER AND MAKE AT&T come up with a better SOLUTION!

The phone that is being offered to has comparable features and The price u are listing above is promotional prices not the retail price of the phone. Its not ATT fault the Quickfire was a bad phone. ATT didn manufacture the phone. icon_razz.gif

I'm so in total agreeance with you over this phone. I am at the brink of total tears I was on the phone with AT&T for hours and 8 customer service reps later still nothing. How is it that if I paid 189 for my phone with an upgrade that I an not entitled to the phone of my choice? Its mind boggling, I asked the reps so say if I don't like the VU propel or matrix can I send it back and receive another phone no your just stuck with it. Is that something that you say to a loyal customer of three and a half years? Then oh yeah don't let me forget that I was also told that the quickfire isn't a high end phone so that is why I can not get whatever phone I want. Im so lost with them it makes no sense at all. Im not asking for a FUZE or Blackberry Bold just a samsung eternity or a EPIX. How could you even offer me a phone such as the matrix or vu to replace a phone that hasnt even been out for six months this is a whole mess. I agree that as an unhappy AT&T customer that those customers that feel the same as do we should create something to show them that we are not playing with them that we take our phone business seriously the we should be heard. I thought that buying this phone would make me happy but its just a whole lot of head ache. I knw that there are many others that dont have the funds need to even buy a phone out right thats why im so furious.

My quickfire crapped out on me too! I was broken hearted because I really did like it! I started on the phone this morning and between calls and visits to service centers and stores it took the better part of my day to get it resolved. I wasn't willing to take one of the replacement phones they offered because I specifically wanted both a touch screen and a keypad. It took me 4 different people on the phone, but I did finally get them to agree to take the phone back and give me the credit for what I paid for it ($180) towards a new phone at the upgrade rate and not full price. I ended up getting the fuse because it was the only other phone at&t offered that had both the touchscreen and the keypad. I was a little disappointed that the media package for it was $20 more per month than the quickfire, and I can tell it's gonna take some time for me to learn how to use it, but it seems like an incredible phone. My arguement that finally got me to this point was that when I purchased the quickfire, I went in to the store wanting to purchase exactly what I wanted in a phone, I wasn't looking for an inexpensive phone, and for the first time ever I was truely buying what I wanted instead of wishing I could have something and settling for less. I would love an iphone, but refuse to have one because of the inablility to carry insurance on it, and I have three kids. I would make the same arguement and see where it gets you. Also, they did end up offering me the Eternity on the phone as they were out of the LG view.I still said no.but after viewing it in the store, it seems like it would be a good phone as well. Still no keypad though.

I wanted to add that when I went into the store, they wanted to charge me a $25 restocking fee, which I protested since I wasn't returning the phone because I didn't like it but because it was a defective piece of equipment that stopped charging after 34 days. They did end up waiving it for me. Also, talk to customer care, not the warranty people, they're the ones that finally gave me what I wanted.

sooo sorry guys idk how u didnt recieve the hellp i did but i called att cust serv. and will b receiving the eternity on tuesday for free. i went to the local att store and they told me that the recall is only if u are having problems. and that the only phone they were givin out was that shitty propel phone. definitly wasnt givin up my quickfire for that thing. so i call customer service and immidiatly demanded a supervisor who i told my situation to. explain how my phone hasnt had really any problems but i obv didnt wat to chance my phone bursting into flames. so afta speaking with her for approx 10 and telling her that i was lookin at the vu and the eternity. she told me that she would send me the eternity with the curtursy of priority mail. haha for $50 that they would add to my fone bill but wit also receive a $50 mail in rebate so i actually got this phone for free. so for all of you who were forced to downgrade my deapest sympathy i appologize

And so on, we get the point.

Kevin, with all due respect, you aren't sending text messages here. Please give the abbreviated writing a rest. Use FULL words and FULL sentences, please.

Otherwise, thank you for the information.

Oh, and he's so mature, too. Cusses like adults, who knew.

It's not a blog, dumbass.

And quit looking up my ass. What's up there is none of your business.

Or is it?

Nice Gerio. Way to have that stick up in no mans land. LoL icon_razz.gif

And Kevin, she's right. It's not a blog, it's a forum. Typically people do tent to write with complete sentances and don't do the short hand. I personally find it hard to read, as I know others do.

It's all a matter of respect.

Oh, No. Oh, Nooooo.

I'm a GUY! No idea why my parents dubbed me with that spelling. I've wanted to change it, but that is forbidden by my mother and now, my girlfriend of 10 years.

I realize that regular grammar may be going the way of the Dodo (look it up, young'uns), but I will watch it go away kicking and screaming the entire way.

And hey, I did thank Kevin for his info. I tried to be nice. Oh, well.

Take care, Geri O
