I have been with Cingular since forever and retrieving voicemail was always billed as M2M. When AT&T took over they started charging airtime for retrieving voicemail. They said that it was because the service swtiched to an outside number and therefore could not be billed as M2M. THAT IS A LIE! I have a copy of a bill in 2007 that clearly shows me checking my voicemail and it is billed as M2M.
I am in need of a copy of an old Cingular contract/rate plan brochure indicating voicemail is M2M. I know different markets may have had different brochures, I am in Louisiana.

If my memory is correct, voicemail was not M2M with Cingular, or AT+T before that.

From at least 2003-Dec 2007 my account had calling voicemail billed as M2M and I have the bills showing this. What I am missing is my original contract. The new AT&T is trying to convince me that it was a billing error in the Southeast market. Sounds like B.S. to me.

truth be it known is that ATT/Cingular standardized the billing across the country. have a close look at your bills from this time last year to the present. several months ago you will notice the account number changed. your acct was switched from the old billing computer to the new one.if you read your contract you will find a clause that tells you that the carrier can change the terms at any time. there were notifications printed on bills **prior to the change*** indicating this change.
