I live in washington state and currently have a good texting plan. But a friend Id like to text lives in the UK. The prices for international texting can be pretty outragious. He has T-model. Does anyone have any advice/tricks/anything they could share.

Nope. Just change the recipient to the email address and send it. If you send an MMS instead you'll be able to fit 1000 characters instead of the SMS standard 160 characters.

what if I dont know the email for UK t-mobile?

Find out if possible, may need to contact T-Mobile there to find out the email-to-phone address. Try to just send it to a normal email address that the person overseas can get to.
