I've been trying to figure out how to download ringtones to this phone. It's through Cricket. if anyone knows who that is. I'm trying to add different ringtones and wallpapers etc to the phone, I cant get them added, I have an external memory card. For some reason I am not able to figure out what site to use or how to get them converted to ringtones that I can use on my phone. I'm looking to use the ringtones as 'set ringtones for callers'. The manual doesnt give any direction on how to do this. I've tried the motorola phone tools but it can't find the phone.
If anyone knows I would greatly appreciate any information you can give me to help me out.
Thank you!
Jen

im sorry, i cannot help you at all however i do need your help and would greatly appreciate an answer since, every review i have read so far has been either slanted towards the good or heavily towards the bad.
i need to know if the phone has as many locking up problems as people make it sound like? every phone locks up sometimes, it will happen but i need to know if it happens often and if the web browsing and email application works fine and somewhat fast. have you had any other technical issues with it? if you can answer these questions i can do my best to try and help you resolve your problem as i do want the phone but am hesitant upgrading to it when it is going to cost me an extra 15 a month, which from what i hear its more then that cause it will bring my 55 dollar bill up to 80, which i dont understand. thanks for any help you can give me

Are you with cricket as your service provider? Just wondering because I believe the phone only works on cricket and alltel services. of course unless it's flashed. I have it through Cricket. I had gotten one phone and it was a lemon I think(it's battery died easily. and would constantly freeze) the replaced it with a new phone. This phone has been much better. It will freeze if for example your in the mobile web and your trying to check a txt. it'll freeze for a min but then it'll pull up your txt.
The email updates every 30 mins, automatically once you set it. It's a nice feature. for the most part I haven't had any issues with the web. only when I'm trying to get ring tones. lol. I don't know if they disabled that feature or what happened. that's why I'm having the issues with the ring tones.
What I did for my plan, if your with cricket. it of course depends on what you use for your plan. I downgraded my plan to the $40.00 plan and added the internet, I don't use 411, and i'm never out of my calling area, so to me it was worth downgrading. also you don't have to pay for the other web when your getting the actual web for 15. I havent seen what my bill is going to be I think I came up with 60 something before taxes.
I haven't figured out how to get special pictures on my phone or ring tones and that irritates me cause I know it can be done, I just cant figure it out and why they have to make it so hard.
If you have any other questions you can feel free to ask. if anyone knows how to do the ring tones and wallpaper would love some help.
Thank you in advance,
Jen

thanks jen i really appreciate it. as for the ringtones i know that you can plug the phone into your computer and use mp3's as a ringtone however you cant use it as a contact ringtone, from what ive gathered so far. Also you should just be able to upload a picture from your computer to your phone and set it as a wallpaper.
So you would deff recommend this phone then? how long does it freeze? a literal minute or just a few seconds?

Ok, you ask for help. I am here to tell you that i dont think there is any help for it. This Motorola Evoke is not worth the money. Ok so first of all it freezez up all the time. Second, in order to use it like a real smart phone up have to go to gmail and change any of your emails to that email so you can receive it. Third of all, the ringtones/wallpaper you can suppose to get them thru the "jukebox" on the evoke. I was told only after i bought the damn thing ( for $300 ) that i had to pay money to only make my own with my own music, when i bought it i was under the impression that I did not have to pay any money. Well know I have just paid into a service that is charging me $23 a year for unlimited and I can not down load anything. I can not even send it to my phone via bluetooth or my usb cable. The QWERTY pad sucks the worst. When I bought it i thouhgt i will go home and get my stylet and use that, WRONG! I am a man, I am a firefighter . I dont have little cute male hands. Mine are big. I dont have the ability to go and type correctly. Bottom line is that this phone sucks. In this economy you would think that the phones they put out would be worth something. Oh and while I am on my soap box, Cricket service blows chunks! And to whom ever may read this Dont by the Motorola HInt. It sucks just as bad if not even worse!
