I have a T68i with R3C001
I have been having alot of problems with this phone so reading on this forum that firmware upgrades may help many of these problems; I went today to Rogers AT&T and they said that they were unable to upgrade my firmware because of some number he found by the battery....anyways he had nothing helpful to say and basically said to get a new phone.
Everyone on here seem to love there phones so i'm assuming a firmware upgrade could help alot of the issues's i have been having. I bluetooth my phone with my pda and my computer and also have a data cable that i original used to transfer data.
Is there a link to a program that i should be getting to upgrade my firmware? As it is beyond the warranty time period I wish to flash my firmware myself.....yea i know it may screw things up.....does anyone have a how to? How do you find the firmware upgrades and do you need a program? do you bluetooth it or use a data cable or ir?
I'm really sorry to post this message but i read all the forums back untill like page 20 and couldn't find any posts dealing with exactly all of these questions i posted.
TO ADMIN: I didn't notice a rules page anywhere and was not really sure if i was able to post questions about how to do firmware upgrades and were to aquire the firmware and programs for the phone.
Any information would be great, i'm looking to upgrade this firmware very soon or throw the phone out of a plane.
Thanks
Mark

You can try and flash the phone's firmware but it is very RISKY and you will probably damage your phone. You can get the upgrade done for free at a SE service centre if the phone is still covered under the warranty period. However, I am not too sure whether the guys at the SE centre or the service provider will perform the upgrade. BTW, the latest firmware version for your phone is R8A015.

Yea i understood that but i really have no choice...i brough it to a fido dealership and they said they were unable to flash it....no more reasons nothing at all...they said it might be because it was a rogers phone and they didn't do rogers but he wasn't sure.....
There is no SE in my area....CALGARY ALBERTA unless someone knows something i don'tl.....I DONT HAVE WARRANTY.....so they will not do it....so i have no choice but to do it myself.......
To the original Question where do i get the firmware and how do i flash it....it can't be that hard if some guy thats making 8$'s an hour working at a fido counter does it, i'm in my last year of computer engineering i should i could do something as simple as upgrade the firmware.....but what do i know....maybe you need something i don't have......thats what i'm asking...what do i need and where do you get it......
Thanks for the reply

Does anyone know of a company i could just send my phone to get it flashed?
Or anywhere in Calgary that will do it and know how to do it?
How about anyone that knows how to flash a t68i that has some time to talk about this.
Its seems like its a very large part of keeping these types of phones bug free and yet on the same note it seems that everyone knows you have to do it but nobody actually knows how to do it.
The people that say tech in there name are you actually phone techs...if so is there like a pascode you could tell me to get an in?
Its very hard searching for this stuff online as it always comes up with someplace in the uk that just want you to pay for ring tones.......well if anyone needs ringtones or wallpapers or screen savor or you name it for you phone i will trade for information on how to flash the phone or to get someone to do it for me.....
Maybe just living in canada isn't that great at all.........

I'm not sure why you asked that last question.
My problems are i can't flash my phone and i need to.
I don't have the flash file.
Is there a common place to download it.

Still if you have the flash file you can't do anything with it.
You'll need a special SE Flash Kit (unofficial) and that will cost you about $50
And still it's a big risk.
Just bring it to the SE Service point.
If you have warrenty or not they will upgrade your firmware.
But make sure you got money.
I don't think it's expencive but just to make sure, sometimes they'll do it for free.
Hope you'll also get it for free.

I have gone to fido like i have said and they can't seem to do it....they say because it's a Rogers AT&T phone
Do i have to go to my service provider or how do you find where a SE is?
