Hello! I'm buying a sidekick 2008 phone off of craigslist and im still dealing with the owner about the price. She said the phone hasn't been activated yet and its brand new. She also said that no contract is required unless your not a T-Mobile customer.
1. Is this true.?
2. And how much is the activation fee?
3. When will you pay the $1 fee? Is it on the days you use the calling or texting or is it pretty much every single day? icon_ermm.gif
4. Would you have to pay if someone else called you?
thanku! i appreciate every reply i get! icon_smile.gif

If you currently have a tmobile sim with service no contract will be required. If you are prepay or from another carrier and want to have a post-paid account then you will need a contract. If this is the case the activation fee is $35. The $1/day fee is for prepaid accounts and comes out of your balance daily regardless if you use the phone or not. The sidekick always has a data connection and sends data to the sidekick system is the background so even if you think you aren't using anything, you are. If someone else calls you, you pay for the minutes unless it is a collect call.

Ok, I get it. I'm new to t-mobile so. yeah. But I'm not going to get a post-paid account so does that mean I still need to pay the $35 activation fee? And once I get the phone, do I go to my local t-mobile store to set it up or can I activate it right at home?
Thanks so much! You answered my questions very well! ;]

I don't know what the activation fee is prepaid. You would need to go to a tmobile store to set everything up since you don't have a sim.
