I am trying to transfer photos I've taken with my VZ9200 onto my PC. I have a USB cable, and my computer (w/XP Pro) recognizes the phone as a "MTP media player", but doesn't recognize any photos on it. (It does show two folders when I use Windows Explorer - "Data" and "Media" but they have only two .fil files in the Data folder and one .xml file in the Media folder.

I'm not interested in sending them by email or using pixplace. I was just hoping to transfer them to my PC. It's for work, and I need to get them to my boss! (I forgot the work camera on a field trip, so used my phone.please help so I don't get in any more hot water!)
Thanks!

You can do what you want using BitPim, which you can download from the BitPim web site (search for it on the web - this site won't accept a URL in the post). Note that it does not yet have support for the env3 (LG VX9200), but if you use the "Phone Wizard." on the settings menu and pick the LG VX9100 (env2), you can download and upload photos. The phone will reset occasionally, and you'll have to pick the phone again in the wizard, but it gets the job done.

mikebikenski,

Based on your post it seems like you would like to transfer your media off your phone without the help of the middleman. My best reccomendation would be to contact LG themselves. Reason being, it's their phone, and they would know best. You can send LG an email/message at
http://www.lge.com/us/support/contact/support-message.jsp
or give them a call @ 1 (800) 793-8896
Seems like they are open 24 hours (don't hold me to that), but I would call after reading this.
Hope I helped.

LG Service wants me to buy a separate memory card to transfer data from the phone's internal memory and then onto the computer. The Service people didn't have pricing info., but thought it should be available at major nationwide electronics retailers.

Perhaps I can try Bit Pim and report back on the results. icon_alien.gif

As stated in an earlier post, BitPim does not support the product yet (for any carrier) and thus didn't work.

The BitPim site and supporting info. warns folks not to attempt using similar model numbers, but--in any event--trying two or three similar models didn't work.

Once you have the phone attached to the computer via USB (and have the microSD, which I'm assuming you have as you see the phone as an MTP Player on your computer), you need to go through the Tools & Settings menu on the phone and select Tools, and then select USB Mass Storage (option 9). That will allow you to open the memory as if it's a flash drive, and there will be folders for each type of file that you can open in order to copy the files to your hard drive.

The newest "test" version of Bitpim does have support for the EnV3. It's always been a dependable program for me.
