I feel really stupid but I just can not figure something out on my LG EnV Touch. icon_redface.gif

I have unlimited Internet access on it and I want to go to FictionPress to read. Now, I can get there, I can get to the place I want to be on but I can not page through chapters, change rating's or do anything that has a pull down menu. That kinda impedes my ability to read any kind of story if I can't get past the first chapter. Now I read all the time (real books, online etc.) and my decision to get Internet was mainly based around that, so I'm really hoping that I'm missing something obvious.

*I tried to post a picture of it but haven't made ten posts yet so it won't let me. So I'm not sure if anyone can understand what I'm saying without a picture.

I'm not sure I explained this well at all, but if anyone can figure out what I'm saying and help me I would be really appreciative.

The phone doesn't support flash, and also doesn't have the memory for a lot of those types of sites. You'd want a smartphone like the Omnia, and even then some drop downs and menus on webpages won't open if the memory required is too great. But really the enV Touch will probably never hit a site like that the right way.

But, it goes to the site fine, shows up fine and is all good. If I have the actual link to each chapter after the first one it's fine. It's just the changing over to the next chapter that is the issue.

It will let me click on the drop down menu and everything will come up. It's just that when I click on chapter I would like to go to nothing happens, almost like I never clicked it to begin with.

Does that make sense?

Or did you already understand that and I just didn't understand what you were saying. Are you saying it's the drop down menus in particular that require more memory and it's actually the act of using that to get to the next chapter rather than the page it's going to that needs more memory than I have?

It just seems to me that if youtube and image, text, link and ad heavy forums and sites load fine then a simple chapter change would be a piece of cake.

Thank again

You know perhaps the phone is acting odd. I just don't have too much confidence in a basic phone to access the internet, no matter how updated the HTML browser is they never seem to match a smartphone's abilities. Example website is www.vzw.com, and a blackberry wouldn't have the memory to be able to log into your account from there, which is why an application was made for my verizon. So for your book site, I couldn't tell you. My advice is check the software on the phone, dial from the inside screen #helphelp* and info will pop up. Scroll down to SW Version and make sure it ends in v04. Software updates occur now and again and sometimes help out random issues.
