Do you think that SIM cards will ever be phased out? Do IPhones have SIM cards? How about other smart phones?
I know that AT&T and other services allow you to back up your information on central servers (for a fee). I would think that eventually
all your contact infromation will be stored on a central server and accessed via the internet. What do you think about this? No internet connection means no numbers, but pretty soon internet for mobile devices will be standard.
The reason I ask is because I recently created a website (babyphonedirectory) that allows users to share cell phone numbers, similar to a central server approach.
I want to know if you agree that things are moving this way, and is or isn't a good idea.

I could only wish they would start using sim cards in Canada. Rogers is the only one that I know of here. They are so much more convenient when you store your contacts but no other company uses them here that I know of.
