Okay, if I were to get an unlocked blackberry storm, and use it with T-Mobile, would I be able to get just the internet data plan, but still use the 9.99 unlimited messaging feature that my mom added onto our plan like 3 years ago?

all blackberry plans now include messaging so there would be no reason for that text plan.

You would need to get a total internet plan. I believe some of those include text messaging and some don't. It used to be $19.99 but I think it went up in price.

would an unlocked Samsung Impression have the same options? (IE being able to use the web browser on T-mobile's 9.99 unlimited web service, and use the unlimited texting service already apart of the plan?

Yes and no. If the impression is a smart phone than no. If it is a dumbphone then yes. But tmobile has began blocking internet on unlocked phones that don't have total internet. It should work for you. There are also ways to get the iphone to work on the 9.99 plan.

yes, all the reviews specify that it's a feature phone, not a smartphone. While it does have a full HTML browser, it's certainly not a smartphone.

then you should be ok using a 9.99 plan. T-mobile was blocking access to anything that wasn't WAP for a while though with that plan. They have been cracking down on data for the last few months now.

I don't think it was mentioned here, but it is important to note that a Storm will not work on T-Mobile's GSM network.
