My wife has the LG Dare which prompt me to purchase one as well since I liked the features as well as the battery life. My Dare doesn't hold battery life very long and requires a longer time to turn on compared to the wife's Dare. Monday I charged my Dare in the late afternoon with the phone off and the next morning, one bar had already dropped. Today, the second bar has dropped and might I add, I didn't make any phone calls, nor use the phone. Today, I had two phone calls. Bottom line, I rarely use it. Then, as I stated, my Dare takes awhile to turn on, about 30 to 45 seconds while the wife's turns on in less than 5 seconds. She has more pictures, contacts, etc. on her phone so I can't imagine it's loading.
Anyone have any idea why the battery life is shorter and the start up is longer? Can it be firmware? Would an upgrade be advantageous?
Thank you for any help.

Difficult to say what the issue is, by try pressing #4357*4357 and when the info screen comes up, scroll down to SW Version. Currently the software should end in V06, if your is any other number then bring it to a store for a free software update. Updates to the firmware are always advantageous, far fewer glitches/screw ups occur, and the device will operate noticably faster in most cases. If the software is corrupt then your phone will need to be replaced under warranty. Also, don't plug a charger into the device more than one time a day or you'll be all out of charge-cycles before the year is up and your battery won't last anyhow. Best of luck

If the problems still can't be solved you might go for warranty and the technicians will help you or they will offer a replacement if they can't fix that. Good luck.
