I just got a samsung t729, which was originally locked to t-mobile. I figured out how to unlock it to use on ATT, but there are a ton of annoying problems with the firmware. By far the most annoying is that in the music player, there is a 30 song limit on each playlist, and you can have a grand total of 4 playlists O___O;; I've got a 2 gig card, which should hold around 500 mp3s, and the phone simply won't let me have more than 120 mp3s on playlists anyway. Also, it's a huge pain in the butt to figure out which songs are on what playlist.
So I really don't know what to do about this. Here are my thoughts on possible solutions:
1) Replace the music player somehow. Is there a .jad music player I could use or something?
2) upgrade the firmware. Scary, but I'm kind of desperate and this really *really* sucks. I know pretty much nothing about flashing firmwares on phones. Is there a generic samsung image? I used to have an A717, and LOVED it. If I could get that firmware on my 729, I'd be unbelievably happy.
3) change the limitation somehow via bitpim. Maybe it's just defined in a text file or something?
4) Cry. I'm leaning towards this.
So, suggestions?
