I know this sounds like a simple question, but I can't find this info anywhere. I'm just trying to get ringtones that are specific to callers, so I know who is calling without even getting the phone out of my pocket. This is a smartphone, I can't imagine that this phone couldn't do that.
Someone please help.

Nevermind, maybe the phone was acting strange, or I'm just tired. I'd have swore I couldn't find 'ringing tone' option when I checked options for a contact, but now it is there.

Just select a particular music file which u wana set as ringtone for a particular caller, click on Options, go to User tone and select Assign to contact.
Then choose the contact for which u wana set that music file as ringtone.
