It's quite supprising how many people have trouble with their MMS on the Genie 02 service!!
I have some trouble with mine! when i try and send my MMS it comes up with "Network fail" All my settings are correct to which i know and will phone genie up in the morning to see if they will enable this, and hopefully they won't give me all the crap about updating my sim, not my fault they done this offer and now they want to give us less because they lose out on money or just being greedy and want more!
I already get 300 texts a month for £10, which is quality dont get me wrong, but seriously what is the harm in enabling sims on the same tariff in which we are currently on weather its 300 free texts a month or 600 for a tenner when they take 4? free sms everytime we send a MMS n e way!!!
I'm not a nastey person Just that these big companys well....... lol.....i wont even go there.......
What is your opinon??

genie was taken over by o2 late 2 years ago, and at that time, GPRS and MMS was not around. You hve to phone up o2. dont slag off o2 when you MUST think of the other stuff that affects what you are talking about... you must remember that o2 are doing the best they can to provide the service, but keepoing track of GENIE's offer, and continuing it...

ok! maybe o2 are trying their best with genie but they cant even keep there own network going any good either with the poor reception, poor customer service, as well as u pay 50p a minute for phoning customer service and u even have to pay to listen to a voice message!!!!! Go Orange they are so much better in a llong way!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes many of times! Apparently I have used 300 texts in 2 days, I think not! At one point I did have an Ericssion T68i and u can actually set the sms counter to count how many you send and it did sometimes count less than wot i am suppose to have!
Well in my opinion i think that they use your free texts also even if the message does not send or if u have apparently used your free texts they charge u for not sending your sms as well! *If you get me *
But what can we do? They will still do it!

I take a look around in the net...
Genie is a distributor who offers o2 Sims, did I get this right?
If yes: o2 Germany is smarter than o2 UK they don't alow distributors to sell their contracts, only official and real o2 contracts available. There are too many black sheeps out there
With this "300 free textmessages" you pay 0,0334 Pound per message... that's pretty little. A normal message is about 0,25 Pound, so they "donate" you 65 Pound.
Most distributors set higher prices for services like hotline, mailbox or else so they get the money back the "donate" you.

Genie was taken over by o2, so o2 is officaly running the genie sims! I think, i am not to sure about that tho!
and
I take it u live in Germany and they charge you 0.25 for 1 text? blimey i thought 0.12 was bad enough lol
yeah its true that they charge you higher prices for other stuff but i never thought of it in the way to get there money back on wot they "donate" you! but it makes you wonder if they do tho, since the prices are too high and i have to phone from my PAY AS YOU GO i cant afford the 50p a min for the customer care line since i dont know how long i will have to wait on the line for and maybe other people think like that too

ah ok @ Genie
They charge us 19 cent per message (about 13p). I only calculated with the prices the announced on the Genie website.
The Genie website looks like not to be trusted I mean... I've seen many offers in web for cellphones... and Genie looks like "well, I won't buy there, the website looks too cheap and not to be trusted"...
50p is much for the customer care line...
o2 Germany has an "Happy Hour" introduced for their "pay as you go" cards a while ago... 18-20 o'clock only 10 cent per message (about 7p) so they are also quite cheap
They even had a campaign... "EasyMoney"... for each complete minute you've been called you get 2 cents (1.4p) and when you've reached 50 cents you get paid as money on account. Their once was a trick so you could boost your account for about 30 Euro by calling your own phone, since our main telephon provider (Telekom) offered free calls at weekends but that's now nearly for 2 years over...
