Hey, this is my first post here... so I guess I should say Hi...
HI
I currently own a NEC e606 (3g) phone but I am getting rid of it, and I really liked the T610, but now I see that the T630 is out and with a kick ass screen!!
So, I have a few questions about the T630...
I am currently living in Europe, but I will soon be moving to Australia... will the T630 work in those two continents (because I am buying the phone off Ebay from America)?
I need to know for sure, I want it to be able to work 100% -- reception, talking, data, wap, gprs, all that stuff... I dont want it to only "half work", which is what I have heard happens when only ONE GSM band works on your continent (eg GSM900)
Also, what should I get with it for a PC link?
-IrDA
-Data calbe
-Bluetooth
I want to be able to transfer everything to and from my phone with NO hassles... but the cheaper the better
And is everything ok with the T630s? are there any problematic Firmwares? should I request a certain firmware model?
Thanks!

Max 300 bux woth the T630, since its the SAME phone as the T610 except for the better display (doesn't 'die' in sunlight), and a different design, and being smaller with 3-4 cubic millimetres ... Both the T610/6 or T630/6 are usable EVERYWHERE in the world. Now, this half-working could be an issue if Australia really is that bad in this aspect, but I'm absolutely unsure of this, so let's wait für Mr. Geforce23, who's da brain around hier. I think that you should get a BT adapter for your phone, but if cost matters, then you've gotta check which one is cheaper (sometimes IR is more expensive... so if that;s the case, then you'd better buy a BT)...

Max $300?
hmm... I have been in stores and they are very expensive, so I headed to ebay... and they start out low, but by the time the auctions end they are up around the mid 400s, if not in the 500s...
:S
so is the phone worth it for that price?

Well, it worths it NOW, since its a new fone, but if it isn't that urgent, I think you should wait until it goes below 300. But if it's urgent, then you can buy it more expensive of course, coz it's a nice stable phone (I suppose) with less flaws than its predecessor.

The T630 costs around 400-450US$. It is quite costly when compared to the SE Z600. The T610 now is really cheap and can be considered as a bargain buy. At this point of time, I would recommend the Z600. If you are really interested in the T630, wait for a few months till Feb. when the T610 wil be out of the market and the T630 will cost the same as the T610 does now. By then, Cebit 2004 will have arrived on the scene where SE is expected to showcase their main model for 2004, the SE T650.

That is my problem, I cannot wait because I am selling my current phone.
I have approximately 2 or 3 weeks at MOST to have a phone in my hands... which leaves 2 weeks or so for decision making....
The Z600 is definately out. I have just come from a big flip phone and definately do not want another.
I want something small, easy and simple.

If I could choose between the T610 and the T630
Then I'll choose the T610
Plus:
- It looks better to me
- It's not that expencive anymore
Minus
- You can't see the display very well in direct sunlight

hmm...
you make a good point that the T610 is much cheaper...
but i tend to like the T630 look more, so that is one thing affecting my decision.
Also, how BAD is the screen?
If I get a T610, will I regret it? is it woth paying the extra money just for that feature?
And there is nothing else different correct?

Well. most color screen phones has this problem.
If you are outside where the sun is shining and you look at your screen you can see it hardly.
But the T630 also have this problem but less bad.
If yiu want the T610, then buy it.
If you are outside you can always hold your hand in front of it to see the display well.

I really like the new white look of the T630.
Do the T630 faceplates fit on the T610?
