Howdy,
I have found the most annoying this for me with ALL Nokia's phonez...None of the phones can display a call timer that tells you how long you have been on the phone for while you are talking. Cheap Motorola's have them, every phone except Nokia's...
I can get a screen that tells me how long I have been on the phone for when I hang up, but not DURING the call...
I have a plan where I get 22c for 10 minutes and without a call timer I am always going over the 10 minutes and wasting credit.
I own a Nokia 6100 and it looks like i'll be picking up a new Samsung with added 40 polyphonic instruments at once and 65k screen...When will Nokia start to upgrade these features as well?
Nokia is starting to suck....
Kindest Regards and Merry Christmas,
Scott

I already have CALL SUMMARY, it displayes how long you have been on the phone AFTER the call has been made.
I want a timer to be displayed on the screen WHILE I am talking, telling me how long I have been on the phone for...
I am not talking crap and if you can tell me how to "activate" a call timer on my Nokia 6100 tell me....
NO NOKIA's i have seen have this "feature" i think it is a must for a phone and something a mobile phone should have considering how expensive the calls are...
Kind Regards
Scott

Nokia's not having this "feature" along with not having good polyphonic ringtones and 65k display means i am more than likely going to sell my N6100 and find a better one that allows me to do these things....A call timer is one this that i cannot live without at present and it's driving me nuts....

Hi,
Just to add my 2 cents of opinion. I am not in disagreement with the comments made about Nokia. I have conducted mobile phone research in many parts of the world for a major competitor for Nokia and amongst the thousands of people we interviewed across the globe, colour screen, polyphonic ringtone is not perceived as the utmost important.
That is why Nokia is still maintaining its bunch of loyalist even its display and tone is far behind its competitors. Nokia is known for its user-friendliness (ease of usage) as well as its reliability.
Try to drop both Motorola, Samsung and Nokia phones on the floor a few times and see which brand can still maintain its usability after some time. I have unintentionally drop my Nokia 8210 a hundred times and sometimes, the battery just flung out but after 3 years, it is still a good phone with a reliable usage battery. I do not think Motorola or Samsung have that kind of reliability.
the same goes for ease of use. Try to save the number of a person who just sms you in Nokia or Motorola or Samsung...see how many click each one needs.
I must agree, though, Nokia is still far behind in its display and ringtone but this is more of an aschectic value, if not nice to have things. Perhaps there are people who view this as the most important features when looking for a handphone - thus I would suggest you consider Sharp's model with 262K colour.
I would think Nokia will still not be catching up its competitor in the next 12 months in terms of colour or polyphonic. So up to the users to decide which one features is more important...display or reliability?
Just my humble opinion

Both the Nokia 3660 and the 6600 have 65k displays, there are probably others too but those are easiest to remember off the top of my head.
Too bad about the Call Timer though, which was phased out ages ago. Maybe there's an application for the Series 60 phones that enables some sort of call timer or something? Haven't bothered to look seeing as my current plan gives me 300 hours of free talk time per month anyway.

Just to add, Nokia 3650 does display the call duration. So you do know how long your call is even while you're talking, instead of waiting till the end. k bye bye

LOL@! Of all phones to have a call timer the N3650..It's not a phone it;'s an ugly weird piece of crap...I wonder if the new Nokia's coming out will have a call timer? I can't understand WHY you would phase out this so called "FEATURE" when it is an "ESSENTIAL"
