hi all,
i need some info regarding Nokia 6800. I am in USA and am planning to buy a GSM mobile phone Nokia 6800. I am told that it has GSM 850 /GPRS 1900, the others EGSM 900 /GSM 1800. So can i use a phone which is GSM 850 in India. Has anybody tried this out?
i am a bit confused about the idea of buying this phone now.
i will greatly appreciate if somebody could help me out.

Sorry, but a 6800 won't work in India. The frequencies there are only 900 (And possibly 1800).
I would suggest a 6610 or 3650 for starters.

No, it's not available in the states now. Also It ain't annouced on nokiausa.com.

I have a Nokia 6800 in India and it works perfectly fine.

Yes, that might be, but you've got to differ between US phones and European/Asian phones.
US phones: 850/1900 MHz
European/Asian phones: 900/1800 MHz
The US 6800 is only Dualband with 850/1900 MHz which is US only.
