Hi ,
i'm new at this lark but i bought a innovision wave linker BT dongle ( £25 ) stuck the cd in the drive and have been happlily transfering ever since, i can't say which is better as iv'e only tried BT and found it sooooo easy no reaching behind the pc snagging other cabels along the way as with a cable and my phone dosn't have to be no more than 30cm away and pointing at my pc as with an infrared so for me BT is the only way.

good karma lackhand! we are very happy for you, really. hey, have you tried the SE Image Editor and other apps like Phone Settings? All that worked for you right out of the Box? i have the t610 too, which I think is the greatest phone ever, except for the funky vodaphone firmware my came with, but regardless, i love the phone. anyway, glad to hear ya got it working, and i agree with ya, if ya got a fancy phone like the t610, mucking with cables would be silly.

If you want heaps of hassle and added expense then go for Bluetooth, otherwise grab a plain old serial cable for a few bucks (eBay) and awsome free FMA software from SourceForge at http://sourceforge.net/projects/fma and you are away. There are some users in this site who quote that a serial cable is no good for downloading from the phone but they don't know what they are talking about.
Once you have the cable and the software then to go with all that grab free SMPlay software to create as many MIDI files as you want and you are really laughing!
My two cents worth in case you care!!

OK. So you have made your point. Data cable works both ways. But it can't be a better investment than let's say infra red. i believe that the majority of people change their mobile phones quite often. What do you suggest, that they should by a DC everytime they change their phone? Buy an infrared once, and you're set!

Hey hasselbaink, if you are worried about the cost of a data cable everytime you upgrade the fone then you are right. Go with the IRdA or as Gforce saya go Bluetooth.
