I read somewhere this: The Nokia 6600 is the first of the second generation nokia phones, with more advances yet to come.

Right now, since you have decided that you will go the symbian way, go in for this phone, as it will be having the very latest that Nokia has to offer.

I had a look at the Nokia 6600 recently. The phone looks pretty cool, and the features seem astonishing. Now, this is my personal opinion; but, somehow, I wasn't that impressed with the aesthetics / form factor of the phone. Somehow, it felt a bit bulky. And, the screen seemed a bit dim. This may have been because the contrast/brightness were not correctly set, and/or the area where I viewed the phone was pretty brightly lit.

Otherwise, it seems the best that Nokia has to offer right now. You could check out Baazee for comptetitive rates for this phone.

You could also checkout mouthshut dot com for reviews on this phone. Reviews here are done by consumers like you and me. Pretty decent website.

In any case, before making the decision to buy, I would suggest that you research whatever phone you are going to buy thoroughly, and convince yourself that that is the phone you are going to buy.

Adios and be well...

Of course!!!
Siemens has been in india for sum time now.

N6230 screen is small i agree. But its features cant be overlooked.

There are also talks about a SE T650 which is to compete with N6230, but it isnt officially announced yet.

If u ask me, i'd recommend the p900 to u anyday. But its rather wat u want in a phone that counts.

Try to select a phone which has the features that u require. Do deep research.
Read reviews, compare prices.
Then make ur choice.

I have read in one of the forum that u have added a movie in your 3650 icon_biggrin.gif howz that.Which movie is that.Have u converted the movie and uploaded on the fone.Whats the size of the movie.

Also tell me wat is the ram of 3660.I have read the ram of 3650 is 4 mb.Whats the ram of 3660 and 6600 and also n-gage.

What is the difference of a symbian fone and a non symbian fone

Raunak,
Nice to know ya.

SE menu is not the same as a nokia. Of course, nokias have the easiest menus, but it is quite easy to get used to the SE menus too. And in case, if u have any probs, u will have the manual, and also the SE forum at this site. icon_biggrin.gif

The keypad takes time to get used to. It only makes that much of a difference if u sms a lot. Otherwise, there's not that much of a problem.

3650 can play games with .sis extensions. They are way better than the regular java games. U can also play gameboy games with the gameboy emulator.

It plays n-gage games, but not all of em. Only 2-3 can be played, bcoz of low RAM. 6600 can play all games.

The phone is big, no doubt. But, it is not as heavy as it may seem. If u travel on the bike a lot, u might wanna keep it in ur bag instead of the pocket. icon_biggrin.gif

I didnt convert the movie, i got it from a friend. It wuz matrix reloaded, and file size was 33mb, real media format.

I dont have much idea abt the exact ram of the 3660. Abt the 6600, i think its near 10mb(enough to make sure it plays most n-gage games icon_biggrin.gif ).

I use MA-620 IR adaptor. I got it from parle, for 1700rs.
U might not wanna buy a BT dongle yet, as there is not much support for bluetooth devices here.
mmc reader is useful, when u transfer large data like a movie and all, which might take abt an hour to transfer via IR or BT.

My 128mb mmc was bought from dubai for 1700rs.
Latest version of 3650 allows support for mmc upto 512 mb.

You have replied fast to my post.Thank you icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

You have said that you find problems while messaging with 3650 ,what about playing normal as well as n-gage games.

From where i can get movies for the fone.Is it compulsory to be in real format.

Please tell me what is the difference between a symbian fone and a non symbian fone.Which operating system does other fones have like 6610,7210.Do you think its worth buying a symbian fone.

What is more in symbian fone.

Do you think that its worth buying 3650

What do you think about 3660

I have read the specification of 6230,the only thing i didn't like is the screen ,becos it has very small screen.I want to use big screen fone.

Please tell me which fone will be good

Please update me with the price of the fones in Rs.

3650 games are way better than java games.
U can play 2-3 games of n-gage on 3650, such as sonic-n, Puyo Pop, MLB.
Sonic is good, the others are oke.
Dont think abt buyin the fone for playin n-gage games.

Movies can be in real format or 3gp. With pvplayer u can also play other file extensions. Movie quality isnt that good. Plus there is no proper way to fast forward or rewind, so u'll get bored of it after sumtime.

Non-symbian fones dont have an os. They have only firmware. Only a certain set of predefined commands that govern the working of the fone.
So it is not possible to have anything additional, whose command is not given in the f/w.

Symbian OS is OS like windows. 3650 does not support mp3 playback by default. But if u want to play mp3s, u can just install an app which will play these files(like u install winamp in windows to play mp3s).

I own a 3650, so im always gonna say yes. icon_biggrin.gif
But try to get other's opinions, read reviews. U can read the one on mobiledia itself. Take a demo at a nokia shop and see how it is.

3660 is good. But i'd say go for the 6600 instead of 3660.

Im not in touch with any dealers, so i dont know the prices at moment.
I have mentioned the approx prices before.
U can check on bazee.com or goto any shop and inquire.
