You don't need software, the OS must detect it as another drive or computer and you can send files into it it works, trust me

You have to activate your IrDA port on the laptop. It is normally automatically installed. But if it doesn't automatically find your mobile when you turn your mobiles' infrared on, then you have to activate the IrDA on the laptop - and check the box that says something about "Automatically detect"... Then you'll probably get an icon on the Desktop that says "tranfer files to ..." or something like that, othervice you can rightclick the file you want to transfer and choose "send to..." -> "Infrared connection" or similair (I am using a danish OS).
I hope you'll find out. You can just transfer regulair *.mid files to the mobile - and it will recognize it as a ring-tone. If you wanna transfer pic's I'll recommend you to use the "Sony Ericsson Image Editor". It has an easy way of ajusting and resizing the Images you wanna transfer - and you can transfer them through the program - if you IrDA connection works and you mobile is found.
Greetings from Robert

Hi,
You dont need a software to do that, you just have to align the infrared port of your mobile in front of the laptop's infrared port to transfer files. Once you align the mobile perfectly, the laptop's IR device detects it. Just select the picture you want to transfer from the laptop, and rightclick->send to->Infrared device...this would do the job. When you click on this option, your mobile would ask if you want to accept the file, say yes and there you go!!!!!!

Hi,
Really if you are using WInXP OS it would detect it much efficiently..!
Remember aligning the phone with the IrDa on your PC should be within a short distance of 15 metres on some IrDa's 10 metres on some others... it varies due to the devices capability..! and of course is faster than the DATA Cable.. Of Course..!
