OK, I'm kind a weird now.

I made some research in the web and and came across another forum.
Some people said, they flashed their Samsung E715 to a E710 which means a change of the frequencies.

I always thought this is impossible due to some limitations by the hardware?

You don't need to be a Newton/Einstein to change the frequency.

How would you change the frequency of a mobile. I bought a Nokia 3200b (850/1800/1900 MHz) from the US. The seller advertised the frequency wrongly (900/1800/1900). The local network works on 900 MHz. If I can't change this I'll have to sell back. Can I? HOW?

Only by changing one of the boards in your phone for a different board. It's cheaper to buy a new phone.

I have the same problem with the frequency.
There is a post somewhere in this forum where a guy asked about this problem and i think it was "Jedi Master" who replied that this can be solved by flashing the firmware from 3200b to 3200 so u could use GSM900.
Im looking for someone who'd do this for me right now...but it seems legality of this process is kind of an issue...

Most Samsung phone you can change frequecny by flashing BUT for Nokia phone it require a hardware mod.

E715 flash to e700 and you got 900 Mhz.

1100 flash with Europe firmware and filter change or jumper than use 900 Mhz.

I have tested them both.

I'm guessing some phones come preinstalled, or their antenna or codecs have a programmable RF pick-up, like a home radio.

Other phones' codecs require board charges, probably because the RF isn't set in the firmware but in the hardware itself.

Weird.
