Did u by any chance install the pc suite first?
If u did, uninstall it and then install the drivers.

Otherwise, wen u get the "Found New h/w" message, cancel the driver installation process.
Then go to the Nokia Connection Manager icon in the taskbar, and select Cable, select the Com port and see if the cable is being selected. Then click on OK. No need to click on Apply.

After all this, a very important question, icon_biggrin.gif

Is it the original dku-5? If it is an imitation/cheap one, its drivers will be different and chances are pc suite will not recognise it.

Did u select the option-"cable" from the Nokia Connection Manager in the taskbar??
Without selecting the cable option frm there, the cable will not be selected.

And is this an original dku-5 cable? If it is an imitation cable, the drivers will be different and pc suite will not be able to recognise it.

Hi,

Are u able to connect any other USB devices....if so then the problem would be with the driver installation....At this point, remove all the drivers and instances of Nokia appications inluding the driver for the cable..

Now shut down the computer. Connect the cable to yor computer. Make sure you have connected the phone to the cable.

Now restart the computer.

XP should detect it and when prompted for the driver..browse to the driver locationin the CD-ROM.

This should pick up the driver and make your phone work.

Good luck!!!

Ramgopal.
