In that case you've got a contract with a bad timing. Sounds like a 60/x, which means:
first minute full, no matter if it is 1 second or 59 seconds and after that it depends on the contract, but 10 is it in most cases which means if you make a call of 1:16 you've been charged for 1:20.
I would say 70-80% of all users have a contract with a 60/10 timing. "Pay as you go" is even worse, they've got 60/30 in most cases.
You've got to pay for better timing. They don't want to screw you, it's just less work to do. If there computer has to protocol every second you call, he's got a lot of work to do...
Better next time read the contract completly

Verizon is presently settling a class action lawshit. Numerous individuals have complained of the same thing - being charged for minutes they didn't use - being charged for roaming when they were not in a roaming area - and finding extra charges on their bill for selections they did not request. Verizon has gotten themselves in a lot of trouble with a lot of people. I hope they clean up their act - or everyone will be switching to other providers, and Verizon will find themselves with no customers.

were you able to download a demo game over the air from Verizon, take it off of your phone using MobiMB, patch it with Mif unlocker, and then put it back on the phone using MobiMB? if you did I would like to know how since I havn't figured out how yet.

Im a t-mobile customer care representative - and I can back up the fact that all the carriers I know of in the US use one- minute increment billing - you make a 5 second phone call - thats a minute with T-mobile, Verizon, At-t, Cingular, Sprint in their billing systems. You make 5 5 second phone calls in a 30 second period and thats 5 minutes - this isnt just a Verizon issue. Any Verizone Customer Care reps out there? Id like to talk to you.
