Go check you manual! Mine says the default unlock code is 0000 (for Lg l1200)
Btw, if it asks yo for a puk code,, call your service provider, they will have it, if you get the puk code wrong, it burns your sim card.

Hey all I am an Authorized Verizon Wireless agent and very familiar with LG phones. In order to reset this on the phone, you can do what was stated earlier about hitting *228 then option 1. This is basically resetting your phone to default. It doesn't delete anything on your phone as far as contacts or speed dial information or anything you downloaded off of get it now. Also, at least once a month you should dial *228 and press option 2... this will update your roaming list and if any new towers have been put up it will update this so you will no longer be roaming in certain areas. There is a lot of other stuff you need to know as well. Like if you roaming indicator is flashing, you are not roaming, however your In Network Calling feature is NOT active and you are actually using your anytime minutes. As for the locked phone, if the *228 doesn't work, take it to the nearest Verizon Wireless store that has a technician on hand (most Verizon Stores will have one) and they can "flash" your phone for you. If it's just the keyguard that's active, from the main screen just hit 123 and tyhis will unlock it. If you ar anyone else needs help, please feel free to email me at kizmejsgirl@aol.com and I will be happy rto assist you. I hope this has answered your question and offered a little bit more of information.

Hey, I tried using that *228 thing, but it never asked me to select an option. It just updated my roaming list and reset my phone...
I accidentally locked my phone, and I tried "0000", the last 4 digits, "1111", "1234" etc.
should I just take it by the US cellular store?
EDIT: I took it by the store, and they couldn't get the phone to communicate with any of their computers, so they said in order to reset the phone, they would have to wipe it out completely.
