ten things i hate about my 6600:
1. for the life of me, i can't transfer/import my old sms which i hae on the hard drive from my old 7250. why is that??? before it was so easy using content copier!! if some on has any idea please help!
2.the ring tones r not loud enough
3.vibrate doesn't work when in silent mode
4.another VERY ANNOYING feature in sms. if u switch to memory card and get a txt there, u cant copy it to the phone memory and vice versa...again help here would be appreciated
5.in contacts, theres no straight forward way to change the type of a number, like mobile to general etc...this sucks!
6. if someone has 2 mobile numbers and u wanna send a txt to their 2nd number (the one thats not the default) u have to change that number into default to be able to do it. in 7250 u'd get a list of the numbers and choose! go figure...
7.the video recording time is tooooo short! 9 sec???
8. the "go to" menu has become useless after being so useful in the 7250i, u could add almost anything, now u can ad files only, not really anything from the main menu....
9. automatic keylock is gone!!! how frustrating, get used to do it manually everytime now!
10. the battery runs out very quickly
any comments plz dont hesitate!! otherwise its a very good and impressive phone.

most of your probs can be solved if you read the whole manual !
For example the trick about the phones numbers types, you can change them! You can even add others mobiles numbers, etc... !
And for the battery, it's normal. It's a Symbian Phone, it uses a lot of battery.

1. The backup format of the Series60 fones(.dat) is different from Series40 fones(.ncc).
I dunno if there is a s/w that converts one format to another.
4. It is quite frustrating. I had posted on this before, apparently there is no solution to this, but im workin on a way.
6. Explain to me wat the prob is here. Wen u select a contact while typin a txt, and click on okay, u get a list of all nos associated with it to choose from.

6) The way around that is to not specify a default. It will then ask which one you want to use.
Does the manual mention the copy and paste functionality? I found it by accident by holding down the "mark" button. Excellent feature.

thanx 4 all the replies. nomad's trick was helpful, still not as convenient as the older models but hey....
a temporary way round problem number 4 is to copy the msg in one memory, switch to the other memory create msg, and paste...lol im sure its stupid as it saves it in drafts and cant be moved anywhere else...but thats all i could come up with. i tried oxygen, handset manager, nothing works....
plz let us know of any progress!!
oh by the way the VIBRATE MODE DOES NOT WORK ON SILENT!!! I CHECKED AGAIN. it works for cals but not for sms! try and see.maybe its firmware, hope so.

All u gotta do is go into Profiles>Personalise then scroll down to Vibrating alert an change it to On. This works for both SMS and calls.
Also on my phone for some reason i can go up to more than 9 seconds on the video. I have got upto 17secs once! It appears that it is the filesize that limits the length of the video since all of my videos are 95kb.
In my opinion the most annoying thing is not having an MP3 player and headphone jack, its so annoyin spendin £400 on a fone to find u cant play MP3s.

SUCCESS!!!!!!!!! well some anyway...
to move ur txt messages from one memory to the other, u need psiloc efile manager. if u want to move the txts from say, the phone memory to the mmc, u go to c:/system/mail. under this u will find a file called index. delete it. npw exit the program and go to the messages in the main menu, click options etc to the part where u change the memory, choose memory card, now it will ask u do u want to move them? say yes! cool huh?! without efile manager, u only get that prompt once then ur suck, but w efile u can keep doing it all the time and it works both ways in the exact same method. just delete the index file and u'll keep getting the prompt! try and let me know! good luck all.....im lovin' it!
