I'm trying to synchronize my Outlook contacts to my T730. For each phone number that a person has, the phone now has a separate entry. The phone itself supports multiple numbers per person, so why does the MPT force a separate person entry for each number?

I know that Truesync did this correctly with my T720. I just want one phonebook entry for each person, with all the numbers listed under that person! Not multiple phonebook entries for each person. Does that make sense? icon_smile.gif

Help?

I m using OUTLOOK and MPT also..

Im using the contact list, and when I update I only have one entry, but when I go to that entry I might have more than one of that person.

For example my father has email and home phone and cell and biz #,

He shows up once in the phone contact list, but I get the email fist and often scroll thru to get the number i want.

But with my mother, I wanted her number more direct..
Easy way there was to have two seperate entries in the contact list on OUTLOOK so that MPT would take that as two entries.

When using the OUTLOOK contacct list (im using OUTLOOk 2003)
each person listed (each line actually), should be a seperate entry in the phone.

If you have the phone showing more than one inital person in the phonebook (ie; until u select that one person), then you must have mulitple entries in the contact list.

I probably confused you... since I am not having any issues with my setup, feel free to ask again.... maybe I can explain it better.

In my OUTLOOK contacts, I have one entry per person, and in each contact entry, I have multiple numbers. But when I sync to the phone, MPT creates a separate entry for each name/number combination. Ack. It sounds like your sync is working correctly. Wonder what I'm doing wrong?

This is a "feature" of the 730..

Here is how to change the view:

1.)Go to the phonebook screen
2.)Press the menu button.
3.)Scroll down and press the Setup menu.
4.)Change the view from "All Contacts" to "Primary Contacts"

That's all folks.. This will display only one contact name and allow you to pick a different number or e-mail by scrolling left or right wile viewing the name. This will only work if the contact name is EXACTLY the same.

I hope this helps.

Exactly!!

Now can you explain why it will NOT synchronize recurring appointments?

For example if I have an Outlook meeting scheduled at 10:00am every Wednesday, it will not synchronize at all to the phone.
