Hey All,
I recently purchased 2 of these phones, in hopes of selling one and unlocking the other so that it could be used on my t-mobile acct. I have ran into the problem of trying to find a way to get the phone unlocked, however. I can't locate a data cable for it, or software that i would need to proceed with the unlocking once i obtain a cable. I saw one cable but it was like fifty or sixty bucks, that doesn't sound right to me, but then again that is the only one i was able to locate. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
If anyone has the cable I would be willing to pay you guys to unlock it or to rent the cable??
Also I went to LG site to find a service center somewhere in GA and was unable to locate a center. I figured that they would have the cable and the know how to unlock it for me. I don't believe this phone can be unlocked without a cable but if i am wrong please let me know where to go.

Well the subject sums it up! No responses at all, wonder why. No one else have this phone and want it unlocked. If so have you guys/girls not done any research that you would like to share for the better of all??
I think remote unlocking on the LG 4010 is possible. If you use the following key sequence you can access the sim lock menu.
Switch on the phone with a accepted (for instance the 4010 is for cingular so put a cingular simcard in it) SIMCARD inside, then press these:
2945#*70001# - the phone will pop up and say done.
Then go into menu>settings > Security settings >Sim lock > network> deactivate (Enter unlock code) then "OK".
I am trying to obtain a valid unlock code for my phone to see if this will actually work, i obtained 2 codes but neither successfully completed.
will keep you guys update, and let me know if you find out anything else.

I am planning to purchase this phone on ebay... but still not sure how to unlock this one..
i did some research... and found out some sites which does "unlocking" but it requires the DATA cables.. and some programs....
The way you described on your forum... works for LG 510, 510M and 70xx series.. but not sure on 40xx series...

I can't help but I'm interested in either an ATT G4011 or an unlocked G4010. Whether or not you get it unlocked, give me a buzz, I'm interested in one. What do you want for it?

I have the lg too and want to unlock it but all i need is the code for it. I've only tryed this code 31114422 , but it didnt work. though i heard that the lg 510w is has an identical
code but didnt work either - it was way off. Anyways i want to know wat 2 codes you used i'd really appreciate it thx.

I think you may try to go to: www.cingucell.com they're unlocking most of the US mobiles and the LG 4010 is also listed on their site..

Try www.cingucell.com for LG Unlocking... I am personally unlocking many phones by them...
They're GR8!
