hi all-
I just got cingulars prepay service, and at the store they gave me this crappy nokia 5120i that i would really like to upgrade to a flip phone of some type because this one is just too clunky. does anyone know what specs another phone would have to have in order to replace the nokia? im thinking about a motorola v60t or something like that, but i dont want to buy it until im sure.
also - is it possible to buy a phone that needs a SIM card? this phone currently doesnt have one and i was wondering if i could buy one requiring one and get cingular to program it.
really not too sure on any of this because info about the prepay services seems to be pretty hard to come by, so any help would be extremly helpful.
thanks!

im not sure if this is true for all Cingular markets, but i belive all of the cingular Prepaid service is on there TDMA network currently, so any phone that you got would not be a phone with a SIM.
mostly any Dual band TDMA phone will work with cingulars prepaid service... all you would have to do is purchase it then call cust service for a ESN change.
The v60t is a great phone too.

so do i just call customer service and tell them i want to activate a different phone or go to the store? because nothing i could find online at cingulars website said you could do that... maybe its just another one of the things they purposly dont tell you to keep people from buying outside products?

hehe pretty much
just call them and let them know you got a new phone and want to do an ESN change... or if you want the store could probably do it for you,
if you do it over the phone they will have to walk you though the programing (its simple as pie)
