You can use .mmf and .mid for your phone http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF- 8&q=MMF+Ringtones .

i can't find any sites with ringtones that download as .mmf
and on my easy gprs, when i go to select a ringtone, on the drop down menu, there is only "melody file (.mmf) no .mid
can i get it to recognize .mid or .mp3? this is very frustrating, and i have no one else to ask for help.

you can find midi files then use psm player to convert them to mmf. then you can upload those mmf files to your phone.
