Hello Everyone,
I bought the Nokia 7600 and connected it to my PC using the DKU-5 Cable. I downloaded a couple of apps for my mobile but they have the sis file extension and the Nokia Application Manager does not recognize the files. Is there any other software which will allow me to move the SIS files to my phone. Thanx in advance.

SIS files are only for symbian fones(3650, 6600 etc). As 7600 is not a symbian fone, sis files are not supported by it.

However, you can install .jar files (JAVA apps.) in the N7600.

Replacing the f/w would be possible, but of no use. The hardware that goes into a symbian fone is different, including a faster processor and a lot of extra ICs for various stuff like RAM, multi-tasking etc(which justifies their larger size).
Better option would be to sell ur S40 fone and buy a symbian one.

Hey abhishta, don't joke around. The poor guy has just got his new N7600 and you are advising him to sell the phone.

I u are talking of a phone in the 20-25K Indian Rupees, I would suggest that you check out the N6600. It's is currently the top selling Symbian phone in the market. You can get it from Dubai for about 18K Rs. (around 380US$). The price in India is around 23.5K Rs. Other options include the N3660 available for around 16000 Rs. in India.
