for optimum ringtone space on a v300 and such. Just Convert a any .wav file or so, to 64kb/rate and mono. Make sure filters are on. Make sure each files is cut down to 2:20 each then u can fit exactly 10 files in your phone:)

not sure if this will help you but i think more people giving suggestion on how things works for them might help other as well.
transfer the files to my v600 using mobile phone tools via cable into the audio folder of my phone.
i tried using multiple formats and all works. size doesn't matter. of course the only limitation is how much your free space you have in your phone memory.
i got the same error like yours before due to a program i used to compressed mp3 but i forgot what the program name was then i changed to a different program

Whoever is stumped on getting their customized mp3 onto their phone, try a different program as tester1979 had suggested. I use mp3 cutter and I have had no problems.
